Jesse Lewis Jackson Jr.
was an American politician and member of the Democratic Party. He was born on March 11, 1965, in Greenville, South Carolina. He was the son of Jesse Jackson Sr., a well-known African American civil rights leader and religious figure.
Jackson Jr. grew up in a politically active family and was involved in his father's civil rights organization, PUSH (later the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition), from a young age.
